What is a Brush?

A brush is a styling tool which can be used for detangling hair, styling, separating strands for a sleeker look and improving hairs manageability.

How do Brushes Differ?

Brushes have been specially created to suit all hair types and to help craft various hair styles. The paddle brush is a large, flat brush perfect for smoothing long and naturally straight hair.

Round brushes are encircled by bristles and come in small sizes for short hair and large sizes for long hair. Often used on curly hair, they can also be used to create curls or gorgeous volume if used at the roots.

Thermal brushes are great if you need to achieve a sleek style quickly. Used when blow drying your hair, a thermal brush heats up from the hot air of the dryer meaning your hair warms and dries quicker. Both flat and round thermal brushes are available depending on your hair type.

Other brush types include vent brushes which contain holes enabling air circulation and resulting in a faster blow dry and a volumized style. Finally, densely bristled brushes are perfect for tackling thick or Afro-Caribbean hair.

For Best Results

Some brushes can tear hair or create static leaving your hair looking and feeling damaged. To avoid this we recommend choosing brushes with bristles made from boar hair. If you do choose a brush with metal or plastic bristles, ensure they have plastic balls on the end to protect against hair and scalp damage.

Things to Consider When Choosing your Brush

Ensure to choose a brush which is suitable for your hair type and will help you create the hairstyle you desire. Your hair may need a variety of different brushes depending on what you are doing to it. For example, on long hair a paddle brush is great for day to day use, but a large round brush can add some sexy volume for a night out.
